Piggy Paint is excited to take a stand for childhood cancer. We wanted to share a little bit about The Get Well Gabby Foundation with you. We were recently contacted by this great foundation to work with them to help raise money and awareness for childhood cancer and Gabby’s Foundation. We were excited to get involved! Gabby’s story is so touching and inspiring! Be sure to read on to learn more and see how you can get involved!
The Get Well Gabby Foundation was founded with a passion and courage to fight for a cure for Childhood Brain Cancer in memory of Gabby Vogel. On Mother’s Day 2011 Gabby was a happy five-year-old little girl. Then she had trouble with her balance. Next her vision got blurry. On Memorial Day, she became a patient at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. May 31st brought her diagnosis — an explosively aggressive, malignant tumor called Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma. At 8:15pm on September 11, 2011 Gabby lost her fight to the tumors in her brain. She put up a very good fight and was brave throughout her Journey. No child should have to go through this. Pediatric Cancers are the leading disease killer of children: It will end 7 young lives today. Many of these cancers don’t even have a known causelet alone a cure. Gabby was a fighter, and in her memory we are fighting too. Fighting this monster that takes our children and tears families apart. Join us in this fight. Do it for Gabby and do it for the children that you love.
Now through July 31st, 2012 you can use the promo code GABBY to get 15% off your entire order at www.piggypaint.com and Piggy Paint will donate 25% of all proceeds to The Get Well Gabby Foundation. Help us in this fight to find a cure!
Also, be sure to check out their website for more information about their great foundation and ways you can get involved. Here is the link to their website: www.getwellgabby.org and their facebook page, www.facebook.com/getwellgabby

Piggy Paint is proud to announce that we are now available in select Wal-Mart stores!
Since Piggy Paint was born nearly 4 years ago, our company has tried to find a way to make it affordable and easy for people to try. We think this is a perfect fit! We are in select Wal-Mart stores and available at www.WalMart.com This will allow those who have not been able to purchase Piggy Paint at full price, $8.99, to try our product. The bottle size is different and there are only select colors available at Wal-Mart, but we thought it would be a great way to get our brand out and help raise awareness about the difference in solvent based polishes vs. Piggy Paint’s natural non-toxic formula! We are in the cosmetic aisle, however check our website before heading out to your local Wal-Mart, since we are only in select stores. If you go to the ‘Retailers’ tab on our website, www.piggypaint.com and type in your zipcode, this will allow you to see all the local stores that carry Piggy Paint in your area. Check out our 3 Polish set, one of the sets available at Wal-Mart, for only $6.47. Click here for the link! Melanie and her girls were so excited to see Piggy Paint in our local Wal-Mart. The picture above is when they saw Piggy Paint on the shelf for the first time!

Last week I went to New York for a press tour with Layla, our beautiful publicist. The picture above is Layla and me in Bryant Park (grass in NY–yeah!). If you know me well, you are probably asking yourself why editors would want to chat with me. Yes, I am as average as you can get, but people love Piggy Paint…and God is great!
Nonetheless, rewind to my flight there. I had a crazy week, so I decided to multi-task and paint my nails on the plane. I put the tray down and opened up 7 bottles of polish (basecoat, topcoat, and 5 fab colors–one for each finger). After I finished one hand, the flight attendant came by and told me to put away my nail polish. As I was explaining that the polish didn’t smell, she interrupted and stated nail polish was not allowed because it was flammable. I smiled and told her I was using a water-based, non-flammable polish.
By this time, most of the people sitting around me were listening in (as the flight attendant was getting extremely frustrated with me). I heard the little voice inside my head say, “Shut up Melanie, put the polish away, and don’t make a scene.” Well, I ignore that voice often, and decided to continue to inform her about the non-toxic, virtually odorless, non-flammable, eco-friendly nature of our polish. She looked at me with skepticism and asked, “Are you sure?” I grinned and replied, “Yes Ma’am, without a doubt!”
The sweet flight attendant let me finish my manicure, and came back to admire my painted piggies a few minutes later. I love happy endings!

If you love all of our adorable marketing, then you’ll love the ultra hip, cool, and fun Glynda! She created our logo in the very beginning, and throughout the years has brought “Queen Piggy” to life. Not only is she the most creative person I’ve ever known, but she is incredibly brave in her fight against MS.
We recently attended a Puppy Walk “to help put a leash on MS”. My girls were very excited to see a row of trophies to be given to the largest dog, smallest dog, best dressed dog, and best of show. I knew immediately that Santa, our ornery mutt, wouldn’t be in the running for any of the categories, but my girls didn’t lose hope until the last trophy was given out. Though they were bummed that Santa wasn’t a winner, they were glad Glynda was! Somehow she managed to win lots of prizes from the raffle, and graciously shared with my girls. With her winning streak, I was ready to take her to Vegas!
It ended up being a beautiful morning to share with an amazing woman. We love you, Glynda!
