Last weekend Piggy Paint was invited by Sam’s Club to host a show in a nearby city! We were so excited to do something locally and inform people about Piggy Paint. We had a great time talking to all the people who were shopping over the weekend at Sam’s and loved having people stop by the booth who had heard of us! (That is always exciting!) We also loved seeing people’s faces when we showed them the foam plate- looks of shock and amazement and some disgust! It’s always so nice to then show them Piggy Paint and have them smell our nearly odorless product. There’s just no comparison!
Have you ever seen our foam plate visual? Well this is actually how Piggy Paint began! Here’s Melanie’s story: “One day while we were painting nails over a foam plate, my daughter dropped a glob of her solvent-based polish onto the plate. Shortly after, the paint began to bubble and “ate” through the plate. I looked in dismay at the hole in the plate and decided to test all of her other “kid” polishes on the foam. Within minutes, ALL of the solvent-based polishes began to bubble and eventually left big holes in the plate. From that day on, I decided that any flammable substance that could eat through foam was unacceptable for my children’s fingernails, which would inevitably end up in their mouths. My quest was on, and Piggy Paint was born.”
We had a great weekend and really enjoyed doing a show local. We have another Sam’s show April 26-April 29 at the Sam’s Club in Bentonville, Arkansas. Be sure to stop by and see us if you’re in town!

When I pick up my girls from school, they immediately throw me their backpacks and dart to the playground to meet “the boys”. They became friends with two sweet boys (R and G) that frequent the same playground, and think it is hilarious to chase them, pin them to the ground, and steal their shoes. After many afternoons watching our children tackle each other, the boys’ Mom and I have become friends, and I was excited for our first play date outside of the school playground—we decided to go see “The Lorax” (wonderful movie by the way).
The kids were all so cute sitting in a row with their giant 3-D glasses, sharing their popcorn, M&M’s, and Whoppers with each other. My husband and I were eating Reese’s Pieces, which R and G’s Mom didn’t notice because we got them out after the kids were settled in with their snacks/drinks. After the movie started, my husband gave one of our candies to our daughter, and he mentioned how sweet it was that Macey was sharing her Reese’s Pieces with R. The boys’ Mom immediately stood up in a panic, saying R was severely allergic to peanuts, and due to her switching purses that day, she’d left her Epipen at home.
Trying to figure out if he ate one, I questioned everyone down the row. I asked my husband how many Reese’s Pieces he gave MG. He said one. I then asked MG what she did with it. She pointed to R. Next, I asked R what he did with it. He pointed to his mouth. AHHH! R’s Mom quickly left with him and returned later after a dose of Benadryl. He ended up being okay, but I learned my lesson—always ask about peanut allergies when sharing peanut products!!
Yes, we’re still friends (whew!) and we met a few days ago at a local park to let the kids play. Ironically, my oldest daughter, who has a lot of allergies, broke out in hives while they were playing. R and G’s Mom pulled out the Benadryl to share. Payback? Perhaps…

Spring is finally here! The first day of Spring is always a great day because it means the end of all the cold gloomy weather and hello to all the beautiful flowers and lovely weather! Spring is my favorite time of year, however this year it means a little more to me as I count down the days to our first born baby, who is due the first day of Summer! So the countdown is on! Only one more season to go!
My name is Stacey and I am one of the writers for the Piggy Paint blog! I’m product manager here at Piggy Paint and love working here. Before I started working at Piggy Paint I didn’t realize how harmful nail polish chemicals were and I am so grateful to know the difference now. It’s been awesome since I’ve been pregnant to be able to use Piggy Paint on my nails and never have to worry about it.
I just got back from vacation with my husband’s family late last night and I was so pleased with my Piggy Painted toes; even after walking on the beach for a few days- my toes still looked great! My secret for Piggy Paint pedicures that last me about 2 to 3 months is…I always use the topcoat and basecoat and multiple coats of polish with a blow dryer to help dry and set the polish. Happy Friday friends and enjoy your weekend!

We are so excited about this! We just had to share with you! Melanie was featured in our state newspaper a few weeks ago.

Michael Butner is a wonderful Arkansan artist. Mr. Butner retired from business in the 1990′s and started to combine his knowledge of acrylics with his love of painting. After years of experimenting with materials and techniques, at age 80 Mr. Butner developed “3-D Crystal Acrylic Art” a completely New Art Form for the 21st Century and this is just what he created for us! After reading about Piggy Paint in the newspaper, Mr. Butner contacted us and offered to do a special art piece just for Piggy Paint with our polishes! We were thrilled! We just received the artwork on Friday last week and love it.
Check it out the masterpiece above! Also, see more from artist, Michael Butner, here! (If you look closely at the acrylic panel picture, you can pick out some of our polish colors. Ice Cream Dream, Tea Party for Two, and Forever Fancy are just a few of my favorite stripes on the acrylic panel)
