Last week, Mel flew out to Las Vegas to meet up with Aly, one of our national representatives. Together, the girls spent the weekend running a Piggy Paint display booth at the International Beauty Show. The show which ran Saturday through Monday, featured workshops and speaking events offered by leading stylists and suppliers in the beauty world. Altogether, there were over 100 educational speaking events, as well as an exhibition hall which featured thousands of display booths for attendees to visit.

The show was a great opportunity for Piggy Paint to network with salon owners, stylists, and beauty suppliers from across the country. According to the IBS website, “All [the] attendees are credentialed, professional beauty personnel. Our targeted efforts deliver you an audience that is composed of key buyers and decision makers[.]” We are so excited to have had the opportunity to share a product we are so passionate about with salon owners and suppliers who can help us to make Piggy Paint and information about it more available to the public.

Attendees at IBS visit the numerous exhibits available during the weekend.

Salon owners from Salt Lake City smile for Piggy Paint at the exhibition.
Overall, the weekend was wonderful, and we are so thrilled to be able to share our excitement over Piggy Paint with so many people! Keep following our blog to see more on where we’ve been and where we’re going.

At Piggy Paint, it is extremely important that we practice what we preach. Healthy children, healthy families, and a healthy environment are not just ideas that we incorporate into our business philosophy, but those that we apply to our everyday lives. It is also important to us to partner with other groups, organizations, and companies who are doing the same.
In this spirit, we joined forces with several other local area businesses to host the Cassville Family YMCA’s Healthy Kids Day Fair on Saturday, April 10.
The event, which included a children’s fun run, inflatables as well as healthy snacks, and health and safety information was fun for everyone involved, children and sponsors alike.

Last Saturday, Mel (aka Queen Piggy) had the honor of being a part of a team that participated in the MS Walk in Bentonville, AR. She joined a team alongside our graphic designer Glynda, and our go-to woman at our printing company, Tish. Together with additional team members from DPS, they fundraised and walked to help end Multiple Sclerosis.

Tish and Glynda show off their team sign at the MS walk.
Glynda, who suffers from MS chose the name of the team, dubbing them the “DPS O’Limp’ics.” She is such an incredibly positive woman, and says that without her sense of humor about the disease, she wouldn’t make it. We are so blessed to not only know such incredible women on a professional level (and they are wonderful there!), but also to be able to know them on a personal level as friends.
Even though the weather was typically spring-ish and it rained, no one’s spirits were dampened by the weather. Aside from the walk itself, the event offered face painting, a visit by the mascot of the Arkansas Naturals, and a fantastic barbecue lunch that was provided for the event by a family whose son has MS. All of the proceeds from the lunch went to the National MS Society.

Piggy Paint had a great time participating in the walk, and enjoyed the opportunity to partner with our colleagues for such a fantastic cause. To find out more information about Multiple Sclerosis or to find an event near you, visit http://www.nationalmssociety.org/chapters/ARR/index.aspx.
